It's backkkkk! My favorite posts to do on The Daily Amy, my yearly Halloween post! I always have so much created these posts for you all, but oddly enough they always tend to be last-minute bursts of inspiration. Today I have a special guest joining me in today's post, blogger friend Cara of Caralina Style, to help bring together this fun partner costume idea for you all! So grab your best friend, boyfriend, next-door neighbor, anyone to be the bad to your boujee self.
***Yes, I know I misspelled "boujee." I guess there's no spell check for made-up words?***
Happy Monday friends!
When it comes to Halloween costumes I love a good pun or a different take on your traditional Halloween costume. I'm sure many of you are familiar with the rap song, "Bad and Boujee" so why not dress like it for Halloween... literally. This is the partner / best friend/couple costume to create this season! The possibilities with how to put this together are endless and a lot of these items you can use with pieces you already have!
Bad - key pieces you'll need:
- Anything black
- Leather jacket
- Band tee (extra points if it's super beaten up) / black crop top
- Red bandana
- A sign that says "bad"
Basically, anything that screams Michael Jackson "bad" or biker chick. You can easily find many of these items in your closet or your local thrift store!
Boujee - key pieces you'll need:
- Fur anything
- Sequins, rhinestones, anything sparkly
- Designer/knockoffs/look likes
- A sign that says "boujee"" (spelled correctly)
You can also take it a step further and make your sign out of rhinestones because you know, you're boujee. A lot of these pieces such as a fur jacket/vest you can easily find at your local thrift store and just look for your "boujee" jewels at places like Clarie's or a costume shop!
This has to be one of my favorites for Halloween costumes I've put together so far! I'm sure as many of you would have guessed, it was very hard for Cara and me to keep a straight face for these photos especially with everyone driving by and honking! Be sure to head over to Cara's blog to check out her post along with her preppy and classic outfit inspiration!

Give me the formuoli! - Someone, PLEASE tell me they got that reference, if not then we can't be friends... or you at least need to watch more Spongebob.
Let's face it, burnouts suck. I mean, who wants to be in a rut while everyone seems to be in their mojo succeeding in life? But you know what? It happens, it's natural and today I'm sharing my tips on how you can recharge yourself and potentially avoid burn out.
You know, they said as a rule in fashion that you shouldn't mix multiple trends together... you should also know that I don't always like following the rules, especially fashion rules. When a top that combines all of your favorite trends such as pinstripes, embroidery and ruffles come together you have to get it, right? Right.
The calendar says fall but the weather screams summer. Until the weather and calendar come to an agreement on what the season should be I'll be over here continuing to sport every brightly neon colored clothing item!

Happy Friday friends!
Even though we're almost a month into "fall" I can't help but continue to break out my bright Lilly dresses because of the 80-degree weather we've been having here in the Carolinas. It's pretty much the same deal every year, the second September rolls around everyone is ready to break out all of their chunky knits and consume every pumpkin treat imaginable despite the summer-like weather outside.
I've grown up in NC almost all of my life and I know that fall doesn't really make an appearance until maybe late October / early November. So until then, you can pretty much spot me a mile away with my brightly colored Lilly printed outfits in a sea of maroons and army greens.
I had shared a little bit ago that I had the pleasure of collaborating with Uptown Cheapskate on a post sharing how far $100 can go secondhand shopping. One of the goodies I managed to score was this darling shift dress for less than $50! The dress was pretty much brand new and I was so excited to pick it up during my trip!
Since this dress has so many colors in it, the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to accessorizing. I love picking out one color in the dress and accenting it like I've done with these hot pink fan earrings! Lately, these types of earrings have been my go-to since heavier statement earrings tend to hurt my ears if I wear them longer than a couple of hours...

Oh by the way, for those of you who are actually experiencing fall weather right now, don't worry I promise I have fall content coming to the blog soon! (Next Monday actually!!). It's been a little tricky trying to get photos for my blog posts with my current schedule and RJ living so far away now. It's like I have 1001 post ideas but I just need the time, means, and resources to implement them...

Speaking of RJ... TODAY IS HIS T-SWIFT BIRTHDAY! As I'm sure many of you already know, I love birthdays, whether it be mine, RJ's, a friend's, family's, our next-door neighbors, I'm down to celebrate a birthday. I just love a reason to celebrate and make the person feel special.
If you all remember last year, I did a whole post dedicated to RJ interviewing him with questions that you all sent over! I even shared a post on a surprise party I threw for him as well. This year with both of our work schedules and being long distance we kept things pretty mellow. I'm just excited to spend the weekend with him! I'm heading back to my hometown now as we speak to spend the weekend visiting RJ for his birthday and spend time with my parents. Be sure to follow along on Instagram to see what I'll be up to!
That's it for today's post! Let me know down below what you all have been up to, I'd love to know! I hope you all have a wonderful day and as always, thank you for reading!

Ever open up your closet and just become overwhelmed with all of your clothes and start to get into a rut of how to pair things together? I feel like I get into this rut every once and a while tend to fall into the plain ole jeans and plain top combo because I just get into one of those "fashion roadblocks."
Welcome back to another Instagram Roundup post! If you haven't yet, check out August's roundup post sharing a "behind the gram" look of what really goes on behind each photo. This month I'm doing a bit of twist where I share the outfits on my Instagram that haven't made it on the blog yet or looks that I have styled using pieces previously featured!
When I first graduated college I always got asked “so, what are you going to do with all of your free time?” I kinda laugh at it thinking about it now because it seems that now I’m graduated, I am way busier than I was in college. Today I’m sharing some of my tips on how you can manage two part-time jobs.
