Let's face it, burnouts suck. I mean, who wants to be in a rut while everyone seems to be in their mojo succeeding in life? But you know what? It happens, it's natural and today I'm sharing my tips on how you can recharge yourself and potentially avoid burn out.

I had just recently got back from my trip from my hometown and even though I didn't do much, I feel like it was much needed. Ever since I graduated college I feel like I've been on a go, go, go schedule. Even on my day off, I would always schedule out what I needed to do and at what time to get the most out of my days. Even though I love the feeling of being productive and getting as many hours at work as I possibly can, I was burning myself out.

I would be wake up before the sun every morning and get back home long after sunset. My days were a going routine of waking up, working out, going to job 1, lunch, job 2, and go home to pack up and do it all over again. I feel like when you're in that constant routine you don't really realize that you need a break to recharge, you're just going with the flow of everything.

I had mentioned in a previous post on how to balance 2 part-time jobs that it's important to take time for yourself and recharge. I guess I needed to take my own advice and just not realize it. Even though I love being on the go and tackling my mile-long to-do list every day, I was quickly burning myself out whether I realized it or not. I started seeing it on my blog, I felt unmotivated to post anything and I have been having really bad creator's block. Since coming back from my mini "vacation" back home I feel like I'm recharged and ready to take on the rest of the year. Today I want to share 5 of my favorite ways to recharge yourself and potentially avoid burn out.

1. Social Media Detox
Social media is a great and wonderful thing to connect with people from all over the world and gain inspiration. But, like anything else, too much of anything is never good for you. I feel like often we get into this whirlwind of always wanting to have the most followers, the best Instagram feed, the most likes on a photo, etc and we also start to get FOMO when we see all the fun everyone has sipping on their overpriced lattes. It happens.

The best way to obviously fix this is to unplug from it. I'm not saying you have to go incognito for a few months, but even a day, a weekend or a week of unplugging from social media is good every once and a while. And plus, having a break from it may recharge you and give you some new perspective on how to tackle down on your tactics.

2. Weekend Getaway
If you can, getting away for a weekend is a great way to recharge yourself. I mean, what better way to get out of a rut for a while then to physically get you out? I know we may not always have the luxury to book a beach resort getaway, but even a trip out of town to visit a friend or having a stay-cation would be just as good!

3. DIY Spa Night
Can't leave even for a weekend? Throw in your favorite LUSH bath bomb, light a candle, put a face mask on and indulge in your favorite treat (that may or may not be alcoholic...). It may surprise you what a relaxing night in and a good night's sleep can do to you.

4. Listen / Read / Watch motivational or Inspirational content
I recently started listening to Drink with James from Fohr Card and I have been hooked. I always love hearing/reading how others built their business/empire and it always recharges me and gets my own creative juices flowing. Sometimes it just takes hearing about how others overcame their struggles to achieve their dreams to give you that extra push you need to keep going.

5. Meet up with like-minded people

Similar to #4, but actually meeting face to face. There's something so refreshing about meeting up and talking to like-minded people who are passionate about the same things you are. Whether it be making videos, painting, building cars from scratch, meeting up with others and discussing why you love what you love is a great way to recharge your creative juices and get them flowing.

Amy
