how_to_stay_motivated_to_workout

Happy Monday everyone!

Sorry for the inconsistency in last week's post. School was kicking my butt last week! Also, with the weather starting to be so cold outside I'm trying to find ways to take some outfit photos for you all. If you have any suggestions please let me know down in the comments down below!

Today I am excited to share a new series with you all! Some of you may know that I work at a gym and that I have started gaining an interest in working out since last year. I wanted to share my interest with you all with this new series called "Motivation Monday." Once a month I am going to post a "Motivation Monday" post about a certain topic pertaining to fitness. I hope you are excited about this series as I am and if you have any post suggestions please let me know!

Today's post is all about how to stay motivated to work out! It's no surprise that losing weight and being healthy is the number one New Year's resolution for most people, but did you know that the majority of people only maintain those resolutions for the first couple of months? Here are some tips that will keep you going to the gym all year round!

1. Get new workout clothes

New workout clothes always motivate me to get my booty to the gym! I mean, any excuse to go shopping is great right? Head to your favorite athletic store and pick up some new workout gear to get you into the mood to go workout!

2. Inspiration board

If I see my goals written down in front of me every day I am more likely to do them even when I'm not in the mood to. Make a cute inspiration board on a corkboard or poster board and put it up in your room. When you are constantly reminded of your goals you are more likely to set out to achieve them!

3. Grab a buddy!

Ok, I know this tip has been said many times, but it is so true! I am less likely to bail out on a friend when we have things planned so set up some workout dates with your buddies! I love going to Zumba classes with friends, it makes working out so much more fun and you're there to motivate each other!

4. Take progress photos

When you can see progress happening you're more likely to continue working out, at least for me. I know taking photos of yourself may seem uncomfortable, but you're the only one that's going to look at them! Seeing how far I've come always pushes me to continue on my fitness journey.

5. Schedule it

I'm a major planner and hate when things don't go as scheduled. To help me stick with your workout routine I make sure to schedule it like it's a class in my planner. You can start by going to a group fitness class you like every week or just block a time frame for you to go to the gym!

I hope you all found some of these tips helpful and are able to see them to help you stay motivated to go to the gym! Also, let me know if you're excited about this new series! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

    1. Same! I recently started scheduling mine! I write in my planner in pen and pretty "OCD" when I have to scribble out a plan when they don't follow through so that just makes me force myself to go!

  4. Oh wow, I really need to start working out again! I keep using the excuse "I don't have time", but it's the lack of motivation that's preventing me. Thank you for sharing these tips!

  5. Right now I stay on the work out track by taking photos and exercising with a buddy. When that buddy backs out or can't make it....now, that's something Im still working on!!

  6. Great tips- especially buying cute workout clothes. ;-) It's ironic that I'm reading this post right now, because Mondays are one of my gym days this semester and I'm headed there soon!

  8. Great tips! I love the one about scheduling; that's what I've found most helpful. At my school, we have to sign up for the group fitness classes in advance to make sure we get a spot, so I sign up for my Zumba classes the day before I take them. I'm motivated to go to class because I know I've already reserved a spot for myself and carved out time for it in my schedule! Glad to hear you like going to Zumba, too :) It's so fun!

  13. It was SO hard for me to get my workout in yesterday! I definitely need this motivation sometimes to get my booty outside for a run or to the gym. Once I'm there, I really enjoy it, but getting there is the problem.

  20. In my experience, lypo spheric vitamin c has been a godsend for those suffering from gastrointestinal distress using conventional vitamin C supplements. Without any indigestion or gas, I'm getting all the vitamin C advantages thanks to the liposomal delivery technology. If you have a sensitive stomach, you should definitely try it!
