Happy Friday everyone!

I hope all of you had a great week and are excited that the weekend is finally here! It’s restaurant week here in Charlotte so a couple of my friends and I are headed out to dinner tonight! I’m so excited and cannot wait to devour some delicious French food!

For today’s outfit I’m featuring this beautiful plaid blanket scarf that I picked up from Old Navy around their Black Friday sales. The second I saw the color combinations on this scarf I knew I had to have it!

The funny thing about plaid is that I was never really a fan of it until my senior year of high school (if you’ve been keeping up with my posts that would make it about four years ago!). Before then I hated anything that had to do with plaid print, and look at me now! My closet is full of plaid scarfs and shirts. I’m from the mountains so I guess I always associated plaid with a “country look” (which btw, there’s nothing wrong with that, just not my style at all) so that’s why I avoided the print for so long. After I realize that you can still wear plaid and still look city chic I was all in!

I wanted to keep the outfit pretty simple color wise so the colors on the scarf could really pop. This outfit consists all of my favorite go-to pieces such as my cable knit cardigan, black and white strip top, black jeggings, black ridding boots and of course my favorite Kate Spade purse. All of these pieces have been featured on my blog multiple times, so that just shows how versatile basic pieces in your closet can be!

What are your favorite go to clothing items in your closet? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a fantastic and safe weekend!

  1. This scarf looks so comfy! Plaid can absolutely be city chic, but it took me awhile to get into it too. ;-)

  7. My favorite go-to are my basic long-sleeved tops - they go great under just about anything, including sweaters, ponchos, coats.. whatever! Also, you're making me miss my long hair. :) Beautiful!

  12. I absolutely love your scarf! I love that year two of the blanket scarf involves more pinks and blues compared to last year's typical plaid :) You look so cute, as always!
