Black, White and Plaid all over

Stripe Top: Nordstrom (love this top!) // Black Sweater: Forever 21 (similar) // Scarf: Old Navy (same scarf, different color here) // Black Pants: Target (similar) // Boots: Just Fab // Purse: Kate Spade (similar)

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope all of you had a great week and are excited that the weekend is finally here! It’s restaurant week here in Charlotte so a couple of my friends and I are headed out to dinner tonight! I’m so excited and cannot wait to devour some delicious French food!

For today’s outfit I’m featuring this beautiful plaid blanket scarf that I picked up from Old Navy around their Black Friday sales. The second I saw the color combinations on this scarf I knew I had to have it!

The funny thing about plaid is that I was never really a fan of it until my senior year of high school (if you’ve been keeping up with my posts that would make it about four years ago!). Before then I hated anything that had to do with plaid print, and look at me now! My closet is full of plaid scarfs and shirts. I’m from the mountains so I guess I always associated plaid with a “country look” (which btw, there’s nothing wrong with that, just not my style at all) so that’s why I avoided the print for so long. After I realize that you can still wear plaid and still look city chic I was all in!

I wanted to keep the outfit pretty simple color wise so the colors on the scarf could really pop. This outfit consists all of my favorite go-to pieces such as my cable knit cardigan, black and white strip top, black jeggings, black ridding boots and of course my favorite Kate Spade purse. All of these pieces have been featured on my blog multiple times, so that just shows how versatile basic pieces in your closet can be!

What are your favorite go to clothing items in your closet? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a fantastic and safe weekend!

Valentine's Day Picks

Kendra Scott Earrings // Pajamas // Alex and Ani Bracelet // Mug // Michael Kors Tote // Nikes

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing some Valentine's day goodies that I think that would be great to give as gifts to give to others or to even treat yourself. Low key want everything on here, everything is so cute! I've tried to give some gift ideas for each item I've shown here to give them a little more of a special touch.
Before I get into these goodies can we pause and acknowledge the fact that the PANTHERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL?! I am so excited and already prepping for February 7th. Let me know if you're going to watch! Okay, now that's out of my system, on to the goodies!

Donut Pajamas - I love sweets, pink, puns and pajamas so obviously these pajamas have stolen my heart the second I saw them. Who said Christmas was the only holiday for gifting pj's? They're acceptable for every holiday! Bonus points if you give these with some actual donuts.

Alex and Ani Bracelet - You can't go wrong with jewelry for Valentine's Day. I think this would be cute paired with a small basket of candy and a note that says "sweets for my sweet!"

Mug - So I spotted this mug at Target and it look everything in me to not pick it up right away! It's so stinkin' cute!! Any coffee or tea lover would love receiving this. Also, you could fill it up with some Hershey kisses and write a cute note on it to give it an extra touch!

Michael Kors Tote - I have been on the market for a nice tote for a while just for School and work and I have fell in love with the color of this tote. I love the fact that it has a zipper and so sleek and simple. I am a handbag lover, so naturally I think handbags are a fantastic gift to give! You could fill the bag up with cute little notes and I'm sure who ever will receive this gift will love it!

Nikes - Pause. How cute are these running shoes?! If you give these as a gift I think it'll be super cute to decorate the box and write a note with something along the lines of "glad you walked into my life" or something along those lines.

I hope these ideas helped you on some gift ideas or even some ideas for you get to get yourself! I hope you have a great day and I'll be back Friday! (:

Puppy Love

Sweater: Forever 21 (super old, similar here) // White t-shirt: Old Navy // Pants: Forever 21 // Necklace: Forever 21 (similar) // Shoes: Target // Purse: Kate Spade (similar)

I feel like I have been on a roll with these animal printed clothing pieces lately! Also, I want to point out that my outfit posts for the next couple of months may feature clothing pieces that are either have been in my closet for a long time or I may be re-styled from previous outfit posts. Bottom line is, I probably won't be having new clothing pieces in my posts for a few months because of a couple of reasons.

1. I'm making it my goal this year to be better at managing my money. I went a little overboard last year and I just feel that I need to save more.

2. I have a lot of clothes. I mean, a looot. There are many things in my closet that have been in there for months and still have tags on them. I need to show some of my clothing pieces some love.

I'll try my best to find and link items that are similar to the pieces that I am wearing if the exact one is no longer in stock. After all, aren't fashion posts like this suppose to be used as inspiration anyways? I am making it my goal to not buy new clothes until April (because I cannot not go shopping on my 21st birthday, am I right?) so we'll see how I hold up!

Whew. That was a long spew. Now, on to my outfit!

So, I have had this adorable puppy dog sweater sitting in my closet for years and I probably have only worn it mayyyybee twice (see what I mean about needing to give my clothing pieces more love?) I always joke around with my friends saying this is my "old lady sweater" haha.

I paired this sweater with my favorite white tee from Old Navy and some maroon skinnies to give it a pop of color. I think this outfit is so festive for the Valentine's Day season because it just reminds me of Puppy Love (hence the title..).

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and let me know down in the comments below if you have ever had a break from shopping before. As a shopaholic myself I think this may be a slight challenge.. haha.

Blogging Bloopers Pt. 2

Hello friends, it is that time again where I embarrass myself on the internet. The time I share photos of the good, the bad, and definitely the ugly. Yep, I'm coming back at ya with my blogging bloopers! Sit back, relax, and enjoy laughing at my various facial expressions.

"Dooooooooop"

These little fellas were stealing my spot light!

I don't even know what to say for this one...

It was early in the morning so I had to stretch out the smiling muscles.

Probably dancing awkwardly to the music in my head...

But first, let me take a selfie. Or thirty.

 Smiling is for squares.

You know a shoot is done when you make this face.

Well I hope all of you enjoyed looking at my various facial expressions. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and be sure to come back Monday for a new post!

Pink Quilted Vest

Vest: Red Dress Boutique (sold out, light blue version here) // Sweater: Forever 21 (similar) // Pants: Target // Shoes: Target // Purse: Kate Spade (similar)

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!

I cannot help but feel like a walking advertisement for my blog while I was wearing this outfit because of the color scheme. I managed to pick up this pretty pink vest from Red Dress Boutique during their black Friday sale. The color of the vest was a lot darker than it was pictured out the website and to be honest I was pretty bummed when I opened up the package. I was hopping for the vest to be a pretty pastel pink, but it was definitely a lot darker than it was on the website and since it was on sale I couldn’t return it.

The more I kept the vest in my closet and the more I played around with it, the more it grew on me.  I am still on the hunt for a pretty pastel pink vest, but for now this one shall do. (:

For the outfit I paired the pink-vest with my favorite black and white stripe sweater and some my trusty black jeggings. I seriously wear these jeggings pretty much every other day because they’re that comfy!

I hope are all are having a great week so far! If not, then don’t worry the weekend is almost here! I’ll see you all again on Friday! (:

Happy Martin Lurther King day everyone!

Can we get a hooray for no classes today?? HOORAY!!

Can you believe that we are more than half way through the month of January? What?? Wasn’t the first day of 2016 just like, yesterday? I’ve realize the closer I’m coming towards the end of my college career, the faster time seems to be moving and honestly, it’s pretty terrifying. I feel like there’s so much I want / need to do that there’s just not enough time to act on it.

I guess in reality I am just terrified of “the real world.” I’m still lost and confused what I want to do as a career and I feel that there’s so much pressure to have your life planned out already at this age. Hopefully I will get my ish together this year and have it all figured out. I’m a true believer that everything happens for a reason and I’ll let life just do its course.

Whew. Sorry, didn’t mean to go on a long spill about me being scared of growing up. Now, moving on…

So we all know that black is pretty much my go to color in the wintertime, I mean it’s not like I have been writing that in every single post for the past week… I think you all get the hint by now. Haha. To add a little color to my wardrobe I added a nice pop of color with this red flannel. I love the contrast of the red flannel with my all black outfit it adds a nice pattern to relatively plain outfit.

Fun fact: I picked up this black and red flannel my first year in college three years ago and it was actually my first flannel I ever owned! Before college I never owned a flannel! Crazy, I know.

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and if you are off from work or school today I hope you enjoy your day off. Be sure to come back on Wednesday for another blog post!

Raccoon Sweater

raccoon sweater
Raccoon Sweater: Forever 21 (old, but this one is so cute!) // Vest: Red Dress Boutique (similar and you can monogram it!) // Pants: Target // Boots: Just Fab // Purse: Kate Sade

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Who else is excited that it is finally the weekend? *Insert 50 hand raising emojis here*

If you read my "Geek" blog post you may remember me mentioning that I love quirky sweaters. I am not sure if this falls under the category of quirky, but it is definitely cute! I saw this sweater on the Forever 21 website a few years back and knew I had to have it! The best part was I snagged it on clearance over the summer so it was less than $10!

For today’s outfit I have paired my cute little raccoon sweater with my favorite herringbone vest from Red Dress Boutique. This is seriously my favorite vest ever and it goes with so many things! For bottoms I threw on my favorite pair of black jeggings (sooo comfy) and black ridding boots.

Incase you haven’t notice from the past couple of blog posts; I haven’t been wearing much color lately. In the wintertime my wardrobe mainly consists of black, white, gray, and black. I guess it is a nice switch up from my super colorful outfits in the summer time.

For extra warmth I had a black long sleeved top underneath my sweater. I am thinking about doing a post on how to layer in the wintertime or how to keep warm in the wintertime. I am such a weenie when it comes to cold weather so I have to bundle up!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day and have a fantastic weekend! Be sure to come by on Monday for a new blog post!
