Happy Friday friends!

I’m sure many of you have heard about me talk about Uptown Cheapskate a lot here on the blog, and I promise it’s for a good reason! Being a recent graduate my financial situation isn’t the best that it could be. I’ve been putting myself on a tighter budget and trying to save as much money as I can when I can… this meaning cutting back on my frequent shopping trips. To compromise my shopping habits I’ve been really enjoying thrift store shopping! It saves me a ton of money I would have spent at normal stores and I am still able to get my shopping fix.

One cool thing about Uptown Cheapskate is that you have the option to sell your clothes for store credit. So technically if you use your store credit you’re not spending any money, right? This is also a great way to make sure you don’t over clutter your wardrobe with a ton of new pieces.

As some of you have already seen if you follow me on Instagram, I was given the opportunity to take you all along with me to share how far $100 can go to a secondhand shop. We all work really hard for our money and we want it to go far, am I right? Today I’m sharing exactly what I bought, my thought process, and my experience with my little shopping spree! So let’s get started now, shall we?

NEW WITH TAGS Forever 21 blouse
Finding items that still have their original tags on them is always so exciting when you go thrifting. I managed to find this darling sheer chiffon beaded top original from Forever 21 for ($12). It’s such a cute piece that you can easily take it from lunch with your gal pals, to workwear ready for a night out on the town.

Floral J.Crew Skirt
I ADORE this skirt! This floral print is so pretty and the best part is that it has pockets!! I had mentioned on my Instagram story that this skirt was actually a size too big for me, but I just couldn’t pass it up. I guess I’ll have to either find a way to get it taken in or eat some more cookies, am I right??

Royal blue shirt dresses
If you’ve been a follower of my blog for a while now then you know I have a thing for blue dresses. When I first saw this on the rack I knew I just had to try it on. This shape of this dress is so classic and I love how you can dress it up with some heels and statement earrings or down with a pair of white oxfords.

Pink and White striped bow top
I’m a sucker for anything pink and white and the bow on this top just sealed the deal for me. I envision this top paired with some light wash skinny jeans, nude flats, and possibly some fun earrings?? So cute and you will definitely see a full outfit post on this top soon!

H&M Black skater skirt
As some of you already know, I do have a part-time job where I am required black and white. I actually don’t own a whole lot of solid black and white pieces and I had to go out and find new workwear pieces after my first day on the job!

Fun fact, I actually stopped by UC to pick up 2 black dresses for work and I got them for $5 each! Who says you have to spend a ton on workwear? I picked up this basic skater skirt for $8 and love how I can wear it for work or for everyday wear as well which is always a plus for me when I'm clothed shopping.

Madewell Navy Lace Crop Top
I have always popped into Madewell and loved their clothing pieces, but I could never afford any of them with my current budget. I was so happy to come across this darling piece at UC and knew I had to take it home with me. How cute would this be paired with some white jeans?? So cute and in excellent condition as well!

Lilly Pulitzer Shift Dress
And now, last but not least, I managed to find this darling Lilly Pulitzer shift dress!! It’s always such a treat finding Lilly in thrift stores, and I even got lucky to find a brand new pair with tags attached one time! Even though this dress wasn’t NWT, it still was in excellent condition, and at $47 I knew I couldn’t pass that up.

Uptown Cheapskate always has a great selection of Lilly Pulitzer pieces and I have actually gotten quite a few pieces from my collection from there (like this vintage Lilly skirt!). During my shopping trip, I did manage to find an Elsa top for $14 but unfortunately, it did not come home with me.

OK, ladies and gents. If you kept up then you may have counted that I managed to purchase 7 items which include a new with tag Forever 21 top, J.Crew skirt, AND a Lilly dress for $100! This just shows how far your money goes in a secondhand shop. If you’re interested in scoring some great deals, you can check out this page to see if there’s a local Uptown Cheapskate near you!
