Better Than Tax Free Weekend Event
Thursday I was able to attend a preview of the Better Than Tax Free Weekend event at the Charlotte Premium Outlets. All of the Simon locations including South Park Mall and Concord Mills are having major sales this weekend on selected retailers to ensure that you go back to school in style. If you're in the Charlotte area, be sure to go to Charlotte Premium Outlets, Concord Mills or South Park Mall to score some amazing deals!
It was so nice to meet some fellow bloggers in the Charlotte area. I had mentioned before that I come from a very small town so it's always exciting to even hear about bloggers that live in the area.
Any event that has food is the best kind of event, am I right? Wine, finger sandwiches and chocolate covered strawberries? Yes please!
We spent the evening learning about some upcoming trends for this fall season. Some trends to be on the look out for are layers, 90's and 80's throwback and colored denim. Here I am with one of the styled look incorporating some of those trends!
We also had a fun social media challenge where we went around the outlets looking for the perfect back to school shoe, a retro look, and the best steal from the Better Than Tax Free Weekend event.
I had taken R.J. (aka "Mr. Camera Man") as my date to the event. Here's a little role reversal as I try my hand at being behind the camera and he's in front of it for a change. I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself... (;

The event was such a fun time and they were even kind enough to give us swag bags including a CABOODLE. I always wanted one when I was younger and now I finally have one. Appropriate for #ThrowbackThursday.
Recent Purchases...
As many of you know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on right now (2 days left ot shop!!) and I some of my online purchases finally came in!
BP. Open Front Cardigan - This cardigan is probably the coziest sweater I own! It's long and oversized which will make it perfect for when the weather starts to cool down. This sweater comes in several colors and snag yours now before the sale ends!
Sperry Saltwater Quilted Boots - I have had my eyes on these quilted duck boots since last year's Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I was thrilled to see them on sale again this year. These boots are the perfect color and will be perfect for the winter time with a oversized sweater and a scarf.
Lush Crepe Blouse || BP. Cotton Canvas Anorak || Lush Bell Sleeve Dress
I finally made a trip in store last weekend to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in person. I went home with two out of the three pieces shown above. Even though I didn't go home with the red top, I think it's the perfect transition piece for fall.
BP. Cotton Canvas Anorak - I have been looking for an olive green anorak for a while now and I've finally found the perfect one! This anorak would be perfect for transitioning into the fall and will go with so many different things!
Lush Bell Sleeve Dress - I liked this dress when I saw it on the hanger, but I loved it when I tried it on. This dress is SO comfortable and the bell sleeves are so fun. This dress would be super cute with some brown wedges or some booties and a cardigan when it gets chilly. This dress is still in stock and comes in different colors!
Lilly Pulitzer planner -
This past week was August 1st and you know what that means... Time to use your new Lilly Planner!! This is my third year using a Lilly Pulitzer planner for school and I LOVE it. The color pages, fun quotes, stickers, oh my!
