Happy Monday everyone! I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend!

I spent this past weekend trying to figure out what I am going to do to celebrate my birthday this year. I feel like this whole month has been a bit off to me for some reason. Every year when April rolls around I am in the best mood because it’s my birth month. I try to justify everything by saying “it’s my birth month” and anxiously counting down the days until my birthday. But for some reason it’s different. For some reason I’m just not that excited for my birthday this year. Of course it being my 21st this be the year I am not looking forward to my birthday… Maybe I’ll try to find the birthday spirit sometime this week. If any of you have any suggestions what I should do for my 21st I would love to know!

Ok, enough about my birthday let’s get on to today’s outfit post now, shall we? A few days ago I posted an Instagram photo of this outfit saying there’s a secret behind the top I’m wearing… well the secret is that it’s not really a top! It’s a dress!

This dress first made an appearance on the blog in my "Denim Shirt Dress" post when I styled it in the fall and I decided to try to restyle it for the spring. I just simply tucked the denim dress into a gray lace skirt (confession, I bought this skirt about 3 years ago and this is my first time wearing it.. oops) and voila! It instantly turned into a cute denim shirt! I added my favorite floral necklace and matching quilted purse to finish off the look.

I love finding different ways to style my clothing pieces. I was even considering trying some kind of challenge where I limit myself to a set amount of clothing pieces for a set amount of time just so I can test how creative I can get with my styling. We’ll see if I actually do follow through with that challenge though.. haha.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day and a great week! I’ll see you all again on Wednesday! (:

  5. Ah your 21st is this month! So exciting! (And this opens up so many more Charlotte nightlife options for you now- ha!) I had a perfect 21st birthday weekend in Myrtle Beach, but the following weekend I did a dinner in Uptown for my other friends who didn't go to the beach, and then some friends took me out to the bars/clubs on Montford Drive in Charlotte afterwards!

  10. You look adorable! I can't wait to hear about your birthday plans. Where I live the legal age is 19, so it seems so unreasonable to have it be 21 in the US!

  13. I know what you mean! Some years I've been really not into my birthday but this year I was talking about it non stop for weeks. For my 21st I had some friends take me out at midnight and then the next day I went out in the city. Even though it's your 21st, don't feel like you have to do all of that cliche 21st birthday stuff. If you just wanna lounge around with some friends, you should definitely do that instead! Don't force yourself to go out, it is YOUR day after all!
