Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

I cannot believe Christmas is tomorrow! With the weather being 60-70 degrees lately (which I am not complaining at all) and I have been in Cancun for the past few days it sure hasn't been feeling like Christmas time is here. With Christmas eve being tomorrow and the Christmas spirit seems to be lacking a little bit here lately, I am here to share with you all some of my favorite ways to get into the Christmas spirit!

1. Go look at Christmas lights
I love Christmas lights! There’s something about them that always makes me in awe every time I look at them. Grab a couple of your friends, pile into a car and drive around your neighborhood and look at some Christmas lights. You can get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy some time catching up with friends at the same time!

2. Bake Christmas cookies
Gingerbread has to be my favorite cookies so when Christmas time rolls around you know I am stuffing my face with gingerbread cookies. Look up your favorite Christmas cookie recipe and bake some cookies for your love ones, but don’t forget to bake some for Santa too!

3. Give back
During the holiday season it is easy to get wrapped up in trying to find the perfect gift for someone or trying to decide what you want for Christmas this year, but we also need to remember about those who are less fortune than us. The holiday time is a great time to go give back to the community whether it be helping out at a local shelter or donating some toys for a toy drive. A little act of kindness can go a long way!

4. Spend time with family
Going to college four hours away from home makes it hard for me to see my family as often as I like, so when I do get to go home for the holidays I like to spend as much time with them as I can. The holidays isn’t about gifts and pretty decorations, it’s about spending time with the people you love and creating wonderful memories. Pour some hot chocolate and spend some time with you love ones catching up or reminiscing on your favorite memories.

5. Build a gingerbread house
I had mentioned that I love gingerbread cookies so naturally I love building gingerbread houses as well! This is such a fun and creative activity you can do with your friends during the holidays! Put on some Christmas music and have a gingerbread house building party and I’m sure you’ll be in the Christmas spirit in no time!

Those are some of my ideas on getting into the Christmas spirit this year. I hope this post helped you get into the spirit of Christmas and get you excited for tomorrow! Let me know down below how you get into the Christmas sprit and I hope you all have a great Christmas eve!

xoxo

  1. Tonight I plan on spending time with both my husband's and my family...and looking at Christmas lights! So maybe I'll be feeling the Christmas cheer despite the warm temps and the torrential downpour we're having here in Alabama!
