Good afternoon everyone!

I'm sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately, the weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me... For the past week the weather here in Charlotte has been so gloomy and rainy which just makes me want to lay in bed all day with a cup of soup! Am I the only one who craves Panera's bread bowl soup when it rains outside?

In the spirit of the the week long rain we've been having (and apparently going to continue to have...) I put together some rainy day essentials / rainy day wish list. For the past couple of days I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of rain boots and have yet to find some in my price range. The boots have been eyeing (these and these) are close to $200 and I can't justify speeding that much at this point in my life (#college). If you have found some cute affordable rain boots please let me know down in the comments!

How to be a morning person

My dad always told me, "every successful person gets up early." I don't know if that is entirely true, but I always do feel like I am starting my day off on the right foot if I wake up early.

Now, to start off I wasn't always a morning person. Before my sleeping habits changed I use to wake up around 11:30 am or even past noon on some days which is crazy for me to think now. Since being in college I have defiantly change up my sleeping habits and have started to wake up earlier. Now that I have gotten used to waking up earlier, I have definitely grown to love my mornings. I mean, you can get so much done when you wake up earlier and have the whole rest of the day afterward to do whatever you, please! Here are some of my tips that helped me transition to being a morning person.

1. Set yourself up for success.

I feel like this has been said a hundred and ten times, but it is so helpful when you have to get up early! By doing some little prep work the night before, waking up early the next morning will be a breeze. The night before I like to lay out my outfit for the next day and have my bag already packed and ready to go. This way I know my morning will be a little less stressful and go more smoothly.

2. Go to bed at a consistent time.

I know all of us want to stay up late on the weekends with our friends, but the truth is going to bed at a consistent time every day is going to make it much easier for you to wake up early. Let's say you go to bed a midnight every night, soon your body will get used to it you'll soon get tired around that time every day. Going to bed at the same time will most likely mean you'll wake up around the time every day (see where I'm going with this?). What helps me go to bed around the same time every night is I workout around the same time every day. Working out tends to make me really tired and sleepy afterward so it works perfectly for me.

3. Have something to look forward to.

You know how you are going on a big trip the next day and you wake up super excited the next morning because it's the day of the trip? This tip is kind of the same concept. By having something to look forward to in the morning you are more likely to get out of bed and start your day. For me, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I always look forward to having breakfast every morning (I know, fatty status). You could plan to head out to a workout class in the morning or plan to have breakfast with a friend or even something simple as having an exciting breakfast in the morning. Just have something to let you look forward to the next morning.

4. Let some sun shine through.

Okay, I know this may not work for everyone, but if you are able to try this I recommend you do! If you have blinds or curtains over your window, have them cracked just a little bit so in the morning the sun can shine through. This way when morning comes around you can have the sun waking you up with its bright rays. I know this might not work for everyone whether it be you are a heavier sleeper or you need the blinds to be completely shut to block out all of the lights at night. For me, I don't have to have complete darkness to fall asleep so this works fine for me.

Fall Bucket List

Happy Monday friends!

With the first day of fall being three days away I thought I would make a fun little fall bucket list to help me get into the mood. By no means am I ready for the weather to get colder and the days to get shorter, but I might as well try to make the best of it. I mean, I guess there are some exciting things about fall, like PUMPKIN PIE. I seriously could take down a whole pie by myself, not kidding.

By the way, can you believe that I have never tried a pumpkin spice latte?! I love pretty much anything pumpkin flavor and coffee so I have high expectations for this drink! Also, I have not been back home since July! I don't think I have ever gone this long without visiting back home so I am going to make it my goal to make a trip back sometime soon.

Happy Monday everyone, I hope all of you had a great weekend! This past weekend seemed like it flew by way too fast and I am so not ready for another week of school again. Is it fall break yet? 

Okay, before I start talking about my outfit I want to apologize for the lack of full body shots. I guess for some reason when I was looking back on the photos I did not realize we hadn't taken any! Hopefully you can get a good feel of the outfit through the photos I did manage to get. 

To be honest, this outfit is a little out of my comfort zone, but I really do like how it came together. I wanted to find a way to make the black skort a little more day time appropriate and what better way to do that than with a denim shirt? I added this adorable graphic t-shirt and knotted it to make the look a little more casual. This outfit is a little more edgier than my typical go to outfits, but I am really happy how it turned out. Plus, I think it is perfect for transitioning to fall!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

So I know fall is quickly approaching us and that means colors of brown, orange and red are going to be everywhere, but I just cannot let go of my pastels. I just love how pastels give off such a soft and girly vibe. 

For today's outfit post I put together an outfit featuring this beautiful pastel pink maxi skirt. As much as I love the look of this maxi skirt, I do have to admit that the inside skirt of maxi skirt is a little too short for my liking. I paired this skirt with a super soft tank from Old Navy and some gold accessories. I think this outfit is super girly and just screams Spring (yes, I know I am dressing for the wrong season, but hey, wear what makes you happy. Am I right?).

Good morning everyone!

I really do apologize for not having consistent blog posts lately. I feel like my schedule has been kinda of crazy lately with school, sorority recruitment, and a new job starting soon. I'm trying to work on a posting schedule that works for me. So far I am playing around with the idea of posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We'll see how that works out!

Now for today's outfit post...
Today I am sharing what has been pretty much my uniform for back to school, flowy shorts and a t-shirt! Super comfy guys. The best part about this looks is that it looks super cute but you feel like you are wearing pajamas to class! That's a win win in my book.

I snagged these super cute palm printed shorts from shophopes.com. I found them on Instagram and made my first order from them when they had their site wide 50% off sale! (Fun fact, my pref night dress is from Shop Hopes!) I paired the shorts up with some silver accessories to jazz the look up and headed off to class.

Okay, life update. Today actually starts the first day of rush! I never really thought that I would be going through recruitment again (fun fact number two, I rushed my first year in college and decided not to go through with it) but I decided to give it another shot. I'll be sure to do a post with what I wore and my experience when it's over with!

Happy September everyone! Okay, I know my last outfit post included pretty much everything in this outfit except for the shirt and necklace. I am aware that I am doing a blogging no no, but rules are meant to be broken am I right? 

Now, on to this outfit. I had a morning class on this day and it was pretty chilly out so I was happy that I got to break out my favorite polka dot top! I paired it with my favorite pink shorts and some white oxfords for a little bit of a preppy look. Fun fact, this was actually one of my favorite outfits that I wore during my first year in college. I know, I know I am an outfit repeater. I am just breaking all kinds of rules today.
