Happy Friday friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful week! I managed to survive my first (and last) week back into the spring semester. I have a pretty light schedule in regards to classes this semester. I'm actually only taking two classes in face to face, one online and I have an internship that starts in two weeks! I can already tell this semester is going to fly and I'm trying to make the most of it. Also, can we take a second and talk about Charlotte's weather for a second?? Last week we were prepping for a snow storm and yesterday it was 70 degrees!!! Even though by no means am I complaining about the warm weather, but should I be concerned?? haha

As for today's outfit post..

Can one really go wrong with a classic denim button down and a white sweater? I think not. There's just something so timeless about denim layered with a white sweater. I wore this outfit one of the days I was visiting home during winter break. It was the perfect amount of layering to keep me warm and still looking cute!

What are your favorite wardrobe classics? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and as always, thank you for reading!

How to stick to your New Year's resolutions

sticking_to_your_new_years_resolutions

Happy Wednesday friends!

The new year is here and if you're like me then you have already sat down and wrote out all of your goals for the new year. I mean, new year, new slate, new beginnings, right? Every year it's the same cycle, we set our new goals, go at it for a month (or two) and then life happens and we never get back on track with those goals again.

Today I'm sharing my tips top help you stick to your New Year's resolutions this year! So, let's get started now, shall we?

Set realistic goals
First things first, don't set yourself up for failure. Set realistic that you know are do able but are still a challenge for you. I mean, how do you expect to achieve your goals if the odds aren't in your favor?

For example, "I'm going lose 85 pounds by summer this year!" is probably not a realistic goal. Possibly saying "I'm going to lose 5 - 10 pounds by summer" may be more realistic, depending on your body type of course.

Make a plan
Now you have a realistic goal, it's time to make a plan! This may be my type A side coming out, but this can make all the difference! Whether it be a todo list, planning out your schedule for the whole year or milestones, making a plan of how to achieve your goals will help keep you on track.

Okay, so your goal is to workout five days a week for a whole year, how about trying to schedule to go to specific workout classes or a set time you would go to the gym ever day. You can also try planning out your workout such as when you're training legs, arms, etc. This way you know exactly when you need to workout and exactly what you're doing! Plus, it's always so satisfying crossing things out in your planner or todo list when you finish a task!

Reward yourself!
Now you have your plan all set up, reward yourself for reaching milestones. Went to the gym 5 days a week for two straight months? Treat yourself to that new sweater you've been eyeing. Managed to stay on top of all of your school work for the first half of the semester? Treat yourself to a fun activity you've been wanting to do! Rewards are a great way to help keep you motivated to stay on track of your goals.

Have someone to keep you accountable
Maybe you're goal is to workout more, grab a friend to schedule workout dates with you! Having a friend to motivate you along the way is not only fun, but effective too. I mean, who wouldn't want someone to help encourage them along the way?

Maybe you don't have a someone who can go along the journey with you, then try sharing your goal with a close friend, relative, parent, sibling, etc. You could write up a contract stating what your goal is and maybe throw in what your reward will be once you achieve it. You can sign it and give it to a trusty relative or friend and ask them to check in on you every once in a while to make sure you're staying on track!

Those are some of my tips on staying on top of your new year's resolutions this year. Let me know if you have any tips on how to stay on track down below! I'm wishing you all luck on your journey to reaching your goals and be sure to let me know what they are down below. Have a great day and as always, thank you for reading!

Happy Tuesday friends!

If you didn't know, this past weekend we were able to get snow in Charlotte! Yay for the first snow of 2017!! The news reported 3 - 6 inches for the Charlotte area, but we unfortunately only got about .5 inch... regardless it was still fun to play in what little snow we had! I love the snow and it definitely doesn't snow as much as it does in my hometown. I remembered one year in high school we were either out of school or had a 2 hour delay every day for 2 weeks because of snow!! I kind of miss that and wished we had more snow here in Charlotte.

We were able to head out and brace the cold weather Saturday to take some snowy photos. It  definitely looks like it's snowing a lot harder than it was in these photos, but it was so fun to do our first snow day shoot! RJ had gifted me this pink bow head wrap and it came in handy for our snow day. It's so warm and I love how it matched my blanket scarf!

Also, these duck boots were a must have! They're SO warm and were perfect for keeping my feet nice and dry while we were adventuring in the snow. You all probably know by now, but I HATE having my feet wet! If you are on the edge of getting duck boots, I would def recommend them for the winter if you live somewhere that snows a lot!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far and were able to get some snow in your area this past weekend! Have a great rest of your week and as always, thank you for reading!

Happy Monday Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This past weekend we were able to experience a little bit of snow in Charlotte! We managed to head out to take some photos and I'm excited to share those with you all tomorrow. I cannot believe today marks my last first day of spring semester.. EVER. I'm still in shock that graduation is coming up so soon. Here's to making it the best semester ever!

Being in college, leggings have to be a major wardrobe staple for me. I mean, how can you not like a good pair of leggings? With that said, I am always on a hunt for a good pair, you know the kind that isn't see through put at the same time not super expensive?? After many years of settling with low quality cheap leggings, I think I have finally found the best pair of black leggings and at an awesome price!

If you saw my IG Snap haul around Black Friday then you all saw that I picked up pair of black leggings from Old Navy. I managed to score them for about $12 at the time and these have to be the best pair of leggings I've picked up! These aren't see through at all which is a major must for leggings.

I wore this outfit while I was out "hiking" with my parents and couldn't have picked a better outfit! I say "hiking" because it was more of driving up a mountain and walking up some stairs, but hey, close enough right?

Also, is anyone else getting major Dorthy vibes from the location of this shoot?
"Follow the yellow brick road." Am I right??

Where are your favorite places to pick up leggings? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope all of you are having a wonderful day and as always, thank you for reading!

Pink Talks v.17

Happy Friday friends!

Welcome to the first Pink Talks of the new year! I am excited to share what I've been up to this past couple of weeks while I was home and my recent purchases. The after Christmas sales were SO good this year and I couldn't help myself... so without further ado, let's see what I've been up to!

What I've been doing...

Chinese Lantern Festival
Last week my family and I made a trip to Centennial Park in Atlanta to see the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was so great to spend time with family and take a look at all the beautiful lanterns! I always love visiting Centennial Park during the holiday season because they always have it decorated so beautifully and it's always fun seeing Christmas lights. I wished we had gone a little earlier so there was light out for blog photos!

Watercoloring my life away
If you all see my last Pink Talks, then you know I have been recently into watercolor painting. I have always done a lot of acrylic paintings in the past and still love doing them, but it's been fun experimenting with watercolors lately!

PopBar
On Wednesday RJ and I had visited Popbar in Noda and it was DELICIOUS. I mean, I already love gelato, but make it in popsicle form? In love. Popbar's grand opening is tomorrow if you're in the Charlotte area I highly recommend checking it out!

Recent purchases...

Like I said, I kind of went a little crazy with shopping lately with all the sales going on.. #whoops.

Red pleated midi skirt
Midi skirts have been everywhere lately and I have been wanting to try this trend out for a while now. While shopping the after Christmas sales last week, I came across this beautiful red pleated midi skirt and for an AWESOME price. I scored this piece for $6 and cannot wait to style it!

Blue suede skirt
We all know that I have a slight obsession with my pink suede skirt that I picked up last year for Black Friday. It's one of my most worn pieces and has styled it on the blog multiple times. I thought it was time to add another suede skirt to my collection to add some variety. I picked up a blue version of this suede skirt with some fun lacing and can already tell I'm going to have so much fun styling it!

(similar) Suede nude flats
Flats are a staple for me! Heels are uncomfortable and since I walk to class every day, flat shoes are a must for me. I scored these flats for less than $10 and love them! Unfortunately, those flats are already sold out, but I have linked some super similar ones for you all and they're only $15!

Black pointed toe heels
I've been on the hunt for some black heels for a friend's wedding I'm attending next month and these ones just might be the winning pair! I'm so excited for them to come in!

Adidas Superstars
Ok, I did it. I caved. I bought the infamous Adidas Superstars. I have been on a hunt for a pair of comfy and casual sneakers for a while and every time I was on the hunt for a pair these ones were the first to come to mind! I cannot wait to start experimenting and styling these!!

I also shopped the After Party Sale yesterday. I'll be sure to share my purchases with you all once they come in!

And that's it! That's what I've been up to and my recent purchases. I hope you all had a wonderful week and let me know what you've been up to do down below. Have a fun and safe weekend friends!
