Have you ever had a bad day where everything that could go wrong went wrong? You know, those days where you get so fed up where even the littlest of things will set you off? We've all been there. On the other hand, have you ever had those days where you're so happy and it seems like nothing could go wrong? There may be something more to that.

Hear me out.

There's a lot of talk on social media lately about manifesting the life you want, and I believe there's some truth to that. The idea is that you think about or write down what you want in life and by putting the energy out there, it is more likely to happen. It's the same theory as if you positive energy out into the world, you are likely to receive that positive energy in return.

I had first heard about manifesting the life you wanted at the beginning of the year when I was in the middle of job hunting and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I had just gotten into journaling on the regular and heard that the first step was to write down in detail your goals and what you'd like to see happen. At the time I thought "what do I have to lose?"

I begin to list out ideally what I'd like to happen by the end of the year with things ranging from what kind of job I'd like to have, where I wanted to live, what my social life would be like, relationships, etc. From the little research that I've done on this topic, I did remember the emphasis on making sure to be as detailed on your goals as you can. I wrote all of that down and hadn't really revisited that journal entry again, until the other night.

By no means am I here to say there's some type of "voodoo magic" that made everything I wrote down come true, but I am pretty surprised to say that the majority of the things I had written down came/started to come to life. A few of the points, such as finding a job and being moved out before the end of the year, stayed in the back of my head but many of them I had forgotten about until I revisited the journal entry.

So, what does this all mean?

I think the same theory behind putting the energy of manifesting something you want in life goes along with how you react to certain situations in your everyday life. Bad things happen all the time in our life whether it be we slept in late and hit every red light on the way to work or that we just got broken up with, it happens. While we can't control every bad thing that happens in our lives, we can control how we react to them.

I'm not here to tell you that you shouldn't be sad when you just received bad news or mad when you got into a minor fender bender, but you shouldn't let that dictate how the rest of your day/week pans out. If you put all of those negative thoughts and emotions, you're only going to get negative things in return, and vice versa.

I know I'm guilty of letting my emotions get the best of me, especially in negative situations, but I have to keep reminding myself there's a bigger picture to everything and that putting more negative energy out isn't going to make the situation any better. In life, we already have so many obstacles thrown at us, why make it harder on ourselves by attracting more things to battle with?

Not going to lie, when I first heard about the whole "manifesting the life you want" theory, I was skeptical, and kinda still am but whether it has some truth to it or not, it does help me put things in a better perspective. Whether it is the universe actually doing some voodoo magic or just pure coincidence, it's definitely helped me switch my perspective on a more positive outlook on things.

Now I'm throwing it to you? Do you believe that the energy we put out is what we get in return? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below! I hope you all enjoyed the post and as always, thank you for reading!
