How to style a blanket scarf

Stripped Top || Similar Blanket Scarf || Black Jeans || Necklace c/o || Black Flats || Similar Purse || Alex and Ani Unicorn || Alex and Ani Initial

Happy Wednesday friends!

I hope you are all doing well. I cannot believe that we are already at the end of November! Seriously, where did time go?! This year is flying by and low-key wish it would slow down.

Today I’m excited to share a fun collaboration post with fellow fashion blogger Oby Grace of ObyGrace.com! Today we're sharing how we style our blanket scarfs for the cooler months so be sure to check out her post afterward!

I jumped on the blanket scarf train last year and was skeptical of it at first, but now I’m LOVING it. It’s seriously super cozy and perfect for traveling. I’ve shown how I styled my blanket scarf by wearing it as a traditional scarf on my blog multiple times (see here, here and here!), but today I wanted to share another way I like to style my blanket scarfs.

Unfortunately, my blanket scarf is sold out, but I have linked several similar and super cute options down below for you all!

Lately, I have been loving wearing my blanket scarfs as wraps and makeshift ponchos. It seriously feels like I’m wearing a giant cozy blanket outside but in a super chic way. Another thing I’ve been into lately is pattern mixing. Stripes and plaid are such a classic pairing and I have been wearing them nonstop!

My number one rule when mixing prints or incorporating loud pieces in my outfits is to keep everything else simple so nothing clashes. All black everything seems to be my go-to when deciding what to pair with my loud pieces!

What do you all think about blanket scarfs? Do you love them as much as I do or are you a little over the trend? Let me know in the comments down below!

Also, be sure to stop by Oby's blog and check out how she styled her blanket scarf!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and as always, thank you for stopping by!

Holiday Sparkle

Similar top || Similar Skirt || Black Flats || Pearl Earrings

Happy (Cyber) Monday friends!

Now that Thanksgiving is over we can officially start on the holiday content here on Pastel N Pink!! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I can never justify celebrating Christmas time until after Thanksgiving has passed.

One of my favorite things about holiday wear is that it's socially acceptable to break out all things sequin, sparkly and glitter!! Maybe it's my old cheerleader side coming out, but anything that has glitter or sparkles is a must-have for me.

I picked up this sequin top from J.Crew last year and have been (impatiently) waiting for the holidays to roll around again so I can break it out. Sadly this exact shirt isn't available this year, but this one is super similar and just as cute! I styled this top for a more casual occasion last year on the blog, but I'm sharing it again this year a bit more dressed up. This outfit would be perfect for any holiday party and you can even add a pair of tights it's colder where you live.

I'm super excited for the holiday festivities to begin and my calendar is already starting to fill up with events! What are you looking forward to this holiday season?? I definitely want to go look at Christmas lights and stuff my face full of gingerbread men (SO YUMMY).

I hope all of you have a wonderful week and as always, thank you for reading!

Pink Talks v.14

Happy Black Friday friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and was able to stuff your bellies full of delicious food! This has been a pretty jammed pack two weeks month and I'm excited to share with you all what I've been up to as of late! Also, if you want a full list of my Black Friday sales round up be sure to check out yesterday's post! I'll be updating it through out the day!

What I've been doing...
Panthers Football Game
Last Thursday RJ and I went to go see the Panthers vs. Saints game for a late birthday gift for RJ! This was my second Panthers game and it was so fun to see the Panthers and cheer them on live!

Roomie's Birthday Brunch
My roommate's birthday was this past weekend and we celebrated her birthday at the best brunch place (in my opinion) in Charlotte! I've mentioned Fahrenheit multiple times on my blog and I think it has one of the best views of Charlotte. Also, the best Captain Crunch pancakes ever, SO GOOD.

Capstone Project
For the past 3 months my life as pretty much revolved around my senior marketing capstone project. The main gist of our project is that we are put into a group and have to develop a marketing plan for a company that has agreed to partner up with our University. This past week my group had made it into the semi finals for the project competition, but unfortunately didn't make it into the finals. Even though it is sad that even though we've worked so hard on this project and we didn't make it to the finals, I'm super thankful to have gotten closet to my group and had some great laughs along the way. Also super glad to finally have that project be over with, one step closer to graduation!!

Cheers to 4 years!
Tuesday marked 4 years for RJ and I. HOLY COW. Unfortunately RJ had to work that evening so we just celebrated with a late night dinner at Ink and Ivy (which was DELICIOUS). If you haven't tried Ink and Ivy yet in Charlotte yet, you have to! It's such a fun atmosphere and such yummy food (and drinks!).

Thanksgiving
We all know that Thanksgiving is up there on my list of favorite holidays. This year we decided to head over to my aunt's house to spend Thanksgiving. The evening will filled with (tons) of yummy foods, laughs and catching up with one another. It's always so great to see family, especially not that we're all older and are busy with our own lives and don't get to see each other as often!

Recent Purchases...

I have been on a hunt for some new business casual / business professional attire for my wardrobe. I managed to find this adorable pencil skirt from Marshalls for an awesome price and cannot wait to start styling it!

I also picked up this super cute Carolina Panthers scarf for the game RJ and I went to Thursday. I always thought these scarfs were so cute and is a great accessory to throw on with a simple all black outfit to look festive without being too over the top.

Whew! I feel like that was a TON of stuff to update you all on! Like I said, life has been super busy lately and I cannot believe it's all going by so fast!! I hope you all have a wonderful day and have fun if you decide to go Black Friday shopping! I may do some shopping from the comfort of my own computer this year...

Let me know what you've been up to in the comments down below! I hope you all have a great and safe weekend!

Also, this wouldn't be a Thanksgiving day post without me saying what I'm most thankful for this year, am I right? I have so much to be thankful for and if I wrote everything out it may take until next Thanksgiving for me to finish! So for now, here are a few...

I'm so thankful to be so fortunate and lucky to be surrounded by wonderful people and to be able to live somewhere where I can pretty much do anything I set my mind to.

I'm thankful for my health, education and to be financially stable.

I'm thankful to live in a world that has coffee (because I probably wouldn't survive college without it), flowers, and cute puppies.

Lastly, I'm thankful to have this platform where I can creatively share my interest in fashion and be able to connect with people from all over. I'm so thankful for the opportunities blogging has brought me and am so excited to see what it has in store for me.

WHEW. That got sappy real quick. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your Thanksgiving and let me know in the comments down below what  you're most thankful for!!

Have a great day everyone!

Styling duck boots

Happy Wednesday friends!

Confession: I don't like traditional duck boots.

You know, those traditional duck boots from LL Bean (also known as Bean boots?). There's nothing wrong at all if you do like those boots, but for me personally, I don't think they really fit my style. I never really thought duck boots were my thing or that I would ever add them into my shoe collection.... until now.

Flashback to two summers ago during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I was browsing the sale and found these duck boots by Sperry. It may be the color, the quilted design, or a combination of both that made me drawn to them.

Unfortunately, they were sold out of my size and I wasn't able to pick them up. Now we fast forward a bit to this past summer for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and the same boots were part of the sale again (yay!!). I managed to snag the boots in my size at a great price and haven't looked back. It was probably a great sign from the universe to let me wait a year to purchase the boots and sit on whether I really wanted the boots or not after the excitement of the sale had died down. I'm a big believer in that everything happens for a reason!

Even though I've had these boots since the summer, I've only recently started to play around with styling these boots. Now that it's starting to cool down, I'm excited to play around with them more!

I decided for my first outfit styling with these boots I would go for the more simple route with a traditional fall look. Throw on a long sleeve tunic, buffer vest and blanket scarf with your duck boots and you have an everyday easy fall look. I can definitely see myself wear these more in the winter months, especially when it starts to snow (fingers crossed that we get lots this year!!).

What do you all think about duck boots? Do you love them or hate them (which is perfectly fine! RJ still not a huge fan of these himself..)? Let me know in the comments down below!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a fantastic Thanksgiving tomorrow!! As always, thank you for stopping by and reading!

Happy Monday friends!!

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and I couldn't be any more excited! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I mean, you get to be with your family AND eat delicious food, what more could you want??

Every year for Thanksgiving it seems to be a common trend that my outfit incorporates the color maroon in it. I mean, it is the color of fall (at least in my book!). To go with the common theme of maroon I decided to add a styling tip that I always see on Cara from Caralina Style and add a button-down shirt on top of one of my skater dresses. This dress was originally seen in my Christmas post two years ago and I'm glad I could give it a new look by simply layering at the top on top!

The best part about this outfit is that the dress has an elastic waistband which is going to be much needed to make room for my overstuffed belly during Thanksgiving!

Also, can we take a second at the background of these photos?? RJ and I discovered a new park in Charlotte and fell in love with it! I believe it's called Marshall park, and I'll be sure to go back and visit to just walk around one day. I always love exploring Charlotte and finding new places, especially new parks for blog photos!

That's it for today's outfit post! Let me know down below if you're as excited about Thanksgiving as I am! Also, I'd love to know what you are thankful for in the comments down below. I'm super thankful to have such supportive people around me to be able to live in such a beautiful city!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and as always, thank you for reading!

Love for royal blue

Similar Top || Similar Skirt || Black Flats || Clutch c/o || Alex and Ani Unicorn || Alex and Ani Initial || Pearl Earrings
Happy Friday friends!

Apologies for the late post today. If you saw on Snapchat then you know that RJ and I had went to a Panther's game last night! The game had ended later than expected and is why today's post is a little delayed. Also, how fitting is that today's outfit post features a blue top for victory Friday??

Speaking of blue...

It may be no surprise to you all that my favorite color is pink (I mean, it is in my blog name after all!). Although pink may be my all time favorite color, royal blue has to be my favorite color to wear. It's such a beautiful color and I think it compliments any skin color.

Fun fact: I wanted my homecoming dress for senior year to be royal blue but ended up picking a bubble gum pink dress! I guess I just couldn't stray away from my favorite color!

I have had this ruffled top in my closet for a little bit now and have always kept it fairly simple by pairing it with my favorite pair of black skinnies. To dress this top up a little, I went for a black lace skirt to give it an even more girly feel. I think this outfit would be perfect for a dinner date night and would even look great with some black tights if it got cold.

What do you think about the color royal blue? What's your favorite color to wear? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a great weekend!
