Fall is in the air and my wardrobe is all ready to go to put together some outfits this season. Over the years fall has really started to grow on me and now I think I finally get why people love it so much. I mean, the weather is perfect, the leaves are beautiful, it kicks off the holiday season, AND fall fashion is probably the best kind of fashion. Yes, it's only taken me 25 years to realize this.
With that being said, today I'm breaking down all of my favorite fall staples that I think that everyone should have in their wardrobe! From cozy basics to your go-to bootie, I'm sharing pieces you should have in your wardrobe to rock all season long. I'm linking some of my favorite fall picks at the end as well.
ANYTHING PLAID
Is it really a fall look if it doesn't include any plaid? We all know plaid is the unofficial pattern for fall and it's so easy to incorporate it into your wardrobe. From plaid skirts to scarves to a blazer like this one, the possibilities are endless on how to style them. I've been gravitating towards gray, black, and brown plaid pieces this year and love how they can pair with so much.
A TRUSTY BLAZER
For the longest time, I associated blazers with corporate America. Nope, not anymore. Blazers a great layering piece for fall and can easily make any outfit look a little more polished. This plaid one is the latest piece in my collection and I love how I can easily dress it up with a nice pair of pixie pants for work or down with some skinny jeans.
WHITE BOOTIES THAT'LL GO WITH EVERYTHING
White booties have been a popular trend for a couple seasons now. I bought my first pair of white booties last year and I've been HOOKED ever since. They go with SO MUCH. These Chelsea boots are a recent addition to my collection and I love how they're a lot more casual than the pair of white booties I purchased last year.
GOLD ACCESSORIES
Gold accessories have been very popular for a few seasons now and I'm all for it. There's something about the warm tone of gold jewelry that completes any outfit. Lately, I've been really into laying gold necklaces and simple hoops that can be easily styled with any look.
COZY SWEATERS
You can't have a fall wardrobe and not have any cozy sweaters. I shared last week my round-up of affordable statement sweaters, but you also can't go wrong with a basic white sweater that can be styled in multiple ways. I've been really into mock neck sweaters lately, they're super chic and also add a great extra bit of warmth once it gets a little cooler.
