Y'all. How is it that my closet is now filled with pink, glitter, Lilly Pulitzer, camo print, leather, and now snakeskin booties??

Hi friends! Welcome to the first outfit post of 2019!

I'm not sure what's come over me lately, but recently I've been gravitating towards darker colors and edgier pieces... and low key not hating it. It may be the winter blues kicking in and I'm mourning the warm summer weather or me possibly changing my personal style, but ya girl is just rollin' with it for now.

I said my song for 2019 is "My Own Thing" by Chance the Rapper and I think it fits the vibe/mindset I've been going with my choice in clothing.

If you all have been following for the blog for a while you may know that my style is a bit all over the place. I wrote a post about two years ago addressing my personal style and how I was never one who could fit into just one style category whether it be "preppy," "edgy," "boho," etc. I've kind of just accepted the fact that I don't really fit into a set category and I just wear to what I'm drawn to at the moment.

I mean, there's just way too many different trends and styles to limit yourself to just sticking into one set category. I think one of the coolest things about fashion is that it's a way for you to express yourself and essentially there are no rules. One day ya girl can be feeling girly and flirty in a pink dress, bows and all and the next I'll be rockin' something a little edgier. And I've come to terms that it's OK. I mean, get you a girl who can do both, am I right? Who's to say you can't?

With all that being said, I've decided to stop feeling like I have to explain myself every time I try out a new trend / switch up my style / wear something a little out of the norm for me. At the end of the day, it's just clothes and fashion is all about having fun.

Does my wardrobe look like a weird hodgepodge of different styles mushed together? Yes. Does it sometimes make it a little tricky to get dressed sometimes? Also yes. But, does this mean I have a variety of different items to choose for based on my mood? Yes. And that's how I plan on seeing it (at least for now so it can justify me buying a variety of different clothing pieces!).

Now to throw it back to you all! What styles/trends have you been loving as of late? I would love to know in the comments down below! I hope you all enjoyed today's post and as always thank you so much for reading!

xoxo,
Amy
