If you have read any of my posts around the fall time or just know me in general then you know that as soon as fall starts to roll around I instantly put my wall up and try my best to avoid the fact that summer is coming to an end. While most people look forward to pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather I’m still holding onto summer dresses and brighter days.

Well, that may have changed a bit this year...

Hi friends!

For some reason, something has switched in my mind over the past couple of weeks and I actually started to enjoy fall (even though it's pretty much halfway over, but better late than never, right?). Don’t get me wrong, I am still not a fan of cold weather and I’d much rather be sipping on an iced latte than a hot one, but I figured since I can’t really change the seasons, why not just embrace it and take it as it is?

I think what’s helped me start embracing the fall weather is diving into some traditional fall activities. The past month I carved a pumpkin, went to my first Oktoberfest, ate one too many pumpkin scones and head out to see the leaves change. Speaking of leaves changing… HOLY COW GUYS. I’m pretty sure this is my first year being back home in the mountains during peak fall foliage and I get it now. It’s gorgeous! I guess I really took that aspect for granted growing up here.

It’s funny because I’m talking about fall like I have never experienced it before and sweater weather is such a new thing to me even though I’ve lived in North Carolina pretty much my entire life, but I think it’s just a little more exciting to me this year fashion wise because I spent the majority of this past year rockin’ sleeveless shirts and bare legs. And even though I would still rather reach for a bright tank and Lilly skort, it has been fun to get to break out my vests and booties to style again!

Plus, I’ll admit fall fashion is pretty great. I mean, the sweater options now a day are SO fun. Like, can we take a second with this girly number? Ruffles, bell sleeve, the color? OBSESSED. Definitely couldn’t be rockin’ this fun piece down in Florida.

Okay friends, so in quick summary:
  • I still love summer, but I think I’m starting to like fall too (??).
  • I get the hype over sweater weather because sweaters are so freakin’ cozy
  • Fall in the mountains is breathtaking
  • I still don’t like pumpkin spice lattes

Okay, wow that was a lot just to tell you guys that fall weather has slowly started to make its way into my heart. I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and let me know down below what your favorite fall activity is! I hope you all have a wonderful day and as always, thank you for reading!

xoxo,
Amy
