Happy Monday friends!

One of the cool things about having a blog where I share my daily outfits and style is getting to look back and see how much my style has changed over the years. It's funny to look back and see myself wearing things I never thought I would wear or pair things together that I said I would never wear together... Today's outfit is one of those where thinking back now I thought I would have never put together.

Pattern mixing
For the longest time I was not into pattern mixing. I thought it looked cluttered and an outfit should just stick to one pattern and be done with it... and then last fall happened. I started finding inspiration on Pinterest, other bloggers and YouTubers on pattern mixing and it kind of grew on me.

The key with pattern mixing is to pair patterns with a common color scheme and to make sure the patterns don't clash with each other. It helps that one pattern (like in this outfit my stripped shirt) is significantly smaller and the other pattern (my plaid top) is larger to help keep things balanced.

Monograms
If you followed my blog for a little bit now then you have noticed that I have started slowly accumulating more and more monogram items in my collection. From my monogram pullover, to my clutches, to a duffle bag, and now I have the infamous monogram necklace. Like pattern mixing, monograms kind of just grew on me. I don't know when, why, or how I started liking them after being so against them for so long, but I'm rolling with it. It just goes to show styles and preferences change as we grow up.. and that's ok.

I have wanted a monogram necklace for a little bit now and this one from The Purple Mermaid was everything I wanted, and more. I had gotten the monogram in the 1 1/2 inch size and it's the perfect in between of not being to big and too small. I had gotten mine in a 16 inch chain and although I still love the necklace, I wish I would have gotten it in a 18 inch or 20 inch so I had the option to make it longer or shorter if I desired. To give you a reference, I had added an extra chain that was about 2 inches to lengthen my necklace in these photos.

What trends have / outfits you have tried that you never thought you would wear or use to not like? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a great week and as always, thank you for reading!
