Hello everyone and happy Monday!

Today is the first day of my spring semester for my junior year. In a way it is kind of bittersweet. I'm happy that my college career is almost over, but at the same time I am not ready to go into the "real world." How did two and half years go by so fast? I guess I'll just take it one day at a time and make the most out of the rest of my college career here in Charlotte!

Now, on to today's outfit. First off, this top you may have recognized this top from my Christmas blog post where I did a candy cane inspired outfit. As much as I would like to say that I don't re-wear my clothing pieces and have the funds to pick up now items whenever, that is just not realistic for me at this point in time. Plus, it's kind of fun trying to find new ways to style clothing pieces you have already worn before!

And secondly, if you read my post on CollegeFashionista then this outfit may look pretty familiar to you... I had worn this outfit for my introduction post for CollegeFashionista and I thought it was way too cute not to share it on my blog!

The over all outfit is pretty simple, but the little details such as the ruffles, pop of color from the statement necklace, and lace up flats really amps up the outfit. While I do love my colorful outfits in the warmer months, I tend to go simple in black and white during the cooler months. There's something so classic about black and white outfits and I love adding a pop of color to them!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Monday so far and hope you have a fantastic week!

Black on Black

Top: Forever 21 (similar) // Scarf: Dailylook (similar) // Pants: Target // Shoes: Catos (similar) // Purse: Kate Spade (similar) // Sunglasses: Nasty Gal // Watch: Michael Kors

Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well!

I am not sure why, but it always seems like every time winter rolls around I always seem to revert to an all black uniform. It may have to do with the fact that a lot of my cold weather clothing is black or the fact that winter makes me slightly depressed (jk). We all know that I hate the cold weather, so I guess this is my way of mourning the loss of warm summer days, haha.

One of my favorite things about wearing an all black outfit is that not only is the color black slimming, but you look so chic as well! I mean, I know I am not the only one who feels kind of like a bad a when I wear an all black ensemble!

Hey, want to know a little behind the scenes fact from this little shoot? I had to use the bathroom really bad and we were next to a pond that made me had to use the bathroom even more. I had to stop and crouch in between shots… A little TMI, but I thought it was funny to share with you all! I definitely learned my lesson to use the bathroom before we leave for photos!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful day and have a great weekend! I’ll see you all again on Monday!

December Favorites

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing somethings that I have been loving in December!

With prepping and taking finals taking up most of December, I pretty much lived in comfy clothes every day. My favorite place to get comfy clothes is definitely Victoria's Secret, especially their PINK line! I have multiple hoodies from their store and I have been eyeing this pretty pink one for a while now!

On the same note as comfy clothes, I have been loving pjs as well. Usually I go to bed in workout clothes, but recently I have been loving sleeping into actual pajamas. I recently got into wearing sleep shirts, and guys. Where have they been all of my life? Sleep shirts (or nightgowns) are so comfy and the best part is that you don't have to wear pants! #win! My favorite place to get nightgowns is Victoria's Secret!

If you follow me on Instagram, or read some of my previous posts you may notice that I have been loving these black lace up flats. These flats are surprisingly comfortable and versatile! I love adding these to spice up any outfit and they just make an outfit more fun! You can check out how I styled my black lace up flats here.

In December that I also picked up this sequined and stripped top. I actually wore this top a few times in the past month and I am so in love with it! I love anything sparkly so this top is perfect for me! You can check out how I styled the top here.

For some random things I have been loving this past month... Since it was the holiday I got to stuff my face with tons of Christmas cookies, especially gingerbread cookies! If you know me, then you know that I LOVE gingerbread cookies! It kinda makes me sad that they are only out during the holiday season, but I guess that's what makes them even more special right?

I hope you all enjoyed reading what I have been loving this past month and are having a great day! Be sure to come back Friday to check out my new post!

Hello everyone!

First off, in case you have been living under a rock, today is the semi-annual Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale! You best be believe that I was up this morning coffee in hand shopping the sale. I'll be sure to share what I got with you all when they come in!

Now on to the outfit...
I feel like I haven't posted an outfit post in ages! I'm pretty sure my last post was on Christmas day. Like, what?? With my spring semester of classes starting in exactly one week, I decided to start trying to get in the mindset of school by dressing the part.

I picked up this cozy "geek" sweater from Marshall's last year and completely forgot I had it in my closet until recently (I know I'm not the only one guilty of this)! I love quirky sweaters like this one because they just make an outfit more fun and playful. I paired my favorite denim shirt underneath the sweater for not only style purposes but for extra warmth as well. It seems like winter finally decided to make an appearance so I had to make sure I stayed warm because I cannot stand the cold!

Today is also the day my first post on CollegeFashionista goes live (you can check it out here)! In case some of you didn't know, I am going to be a style guru for College Fashionista this semester and I'll be writing outfit posts featuring some outfits from people from my university! I'll be sure to share when my posts go live with you all so you can check them out!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful day and if you are shopping the Lilly Pulitzer sale I wish you all the luck and happy shopping!

New Year's Resolutions

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope all of you had fun ringing in the new year last night and started the new year off on the right foot! Now, as cliche as this is, I am going to share with you all some of my new year's resolutions. I did this last year and it really did help me be accountable for my goals because I had them out on the Internet. So, let's get started now, shall we?

1. Clean up my diet
Beginning of my second year in college up until around the end of summer time my diet had been pretty much on point. I was even a vegetarian for most of that time period and even went vegan for a month. I was eating pretty much 80% fruits and veggies and I rarely binged on unhealthy food, but some where during the start of my 3rd year in college my diet went down hill... fast. I want to get back on track with my diet and limit myself to going out to eat only once a week.

2. Stay on top of school work
Last semester was by far the hardest semester I had in college by far. I have never really struggled in school up until then. Although I am happy that I did manage to bring up all my grades to a B by the end of the year, I want to do better. I want to make at least 3 A's this semester and 2 B's. Also, I want to be more organized! I am pretty organized for the most part as far as my planner and turning things on time, but in terms of time management and getting things done before hand I seem to lack in that department.. Hopefully not this semester!

3. Consistently post on my blog
This was one of my resolutions last year and I half way completed it. I started off the year not posting as much and gradually got better at posting at least once a week. I want to make it my goal to post three times a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I know with school, work and everything life is going to throw at me always seems to put blogging on the back burner, but I want to make it an effort to spend some more time on my blog.

4. Be more optimistic / positive
With a series of events that happened last year, I learned that life is so fragile and we really do have to live every day like it is our last. Who knows what tomorrow will hold? I want to be more optimistic and positive about life because life is too short to have negative energy around. I want to have a clean slate and focus more on myself this year and keep people around that bring me up rather than tear me down. Also, I want to try to end every night or at least every week with a "thankful thought" and write down what I am thankful for.

5. Be nicer
This is kind of piggy backing off of the last resolution, but I want to be nicer. Not only to other people, but to myself. This world already has enough hate in it, why should I add to it?

6. Consistently workout 6 days a week
Would it really be a New Years resolution without a workout resolution thrown in there? I was pretty good this past year about going to the gym, but there were some parts in the year where I did slack off. I make excuses like "I don't have time" when in reality you really have to make time to go.

These are all of the resolutions that I can think of for now, but I may add more to this list later! I hope you all are having a wonderful day and hope that 2016 is going to be fantastic for you all! Let me know down below what your New Years resolutions are!
