Holding onto Summer

Happy Wednesday friends!

Today's is the last day of August and even though fall doesn't officially start until mid-September, it does feel like everyone is already in the fall mindset when September rolls around. If you've read my posts last year then you know that I always dread it when the fall season comes around. It's not that I hate fall itself, it's that I hate what comes with fall. Starting school, cold weather, and everything dying (is that a little morbid??) all comes when fall rolls around.

I'm trying my best to hold onto summer while I still can and today's outfit post is doing just that. White off the shoulder dress with tassels and a straw bag? How much more summery can you get? I may just break the "no white after Labor Day" (which, btw still never understood!) rule and continue to wear this dress out for lunch dates until fall actually takes over.

Although this dress is beautiful, there was one con with it. This dress didn't come with adjustable straps and was actually WAY too long for me to wear if I hadn't done something about it. I actually quickly tied a bow on each strap and sewed in place to make a quick and easy fix for a small problem.

Also, special S/O to those of you who follow me on Instagram and saw the bloopers from this photoshoot... Be sure to follow me on Instagram for more behind the scenes posts on IG Snap! (:

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far and continue to do so! Let me know if you are sad summer is over like I am and as always, thank you for reading!

Not Another Navy Floral Dress

Happy Monday friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! I got to spend my weekend having brunch with some blogging friends and a surprise visit from my parents! I always love spending time with them and was so glad they came up to Charlotte for the weekend.

Navy and floral dresses seem to be a common theme in my closet as of late. I mean heck, as I am writing this post right now I'm wearing a navy and floral dress! RJ even jokes with me when I go shopping and always asks "don't you already have something like that in your closet?" Hey, I like what I like.

Even though I have SO many navy floral dresses (10 to be exact...) there's something about this floral dress that makes it stand out from the rest. For one, this dress is SUPER flowey. I mean, I can tackle a buffet + dessert + wine and you still couldn't tell. Also, little details such as the small cut out, the 3/4 sleeve length and the slight high low hem just adds more to the dress.

For today's look I paired the dress with some red lace up flats, but I think this dress would also be a perfect transition piece for fall. Throw on a white cardigan and some booties for a fall look and you'll be good to go!

This dress is actually labeled as a tunic on the Pink Blush website so if you're any taller than me (I'm 5'3/5'4ish) than this may be on the shorter side for you to wear as a dress. Also, for all my soon to me mother fashionistas, Pink Blush has plenty of maternity clothes to choose from that will allow you to go into your pregnancy in style. Pink Blush was kind enough to allow me to host a giveaway for my readers to have a chance to win a $50 gift card to shop their website! Be sure to check down below to enter!

Current Favorite Color Pallet

Similar Pink Top || Same style Banana Republic Shorts || Target Flats || Kate Spade Purse || Similar J.Crew Necklace || Forever 21 Pearl Earrings || Michael Kors Watch

Happy Friday friends!

So I have successfully gotten through my first week of senior year of college! *cheers*

It's no surprise that pink is my favorite color (I mean, it is in the name of my blog!), especially light pink. The color is just so girly and soft that I pretty much consider it a neutral in my book. Lately I have been loving pairing light pink with black and white for a very classic and neutral look.

I picked up these printed shorts from Banana Republic on major sale a few weeks back and they may be one of my favorite shorts I have owned! They are so comfortable and at a great length that won't give you the "half booty out" look.

What is your go to color pallet for clothes as of late? I would love to know! I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe weekend! (:

Happy Wednesday friends!

I hope you are all doing well! I cannot believe we're already at Wednesday, which no complaints here because tomorrow is my "Friday" since I don't have Friday classes! I started my first day of my last year of college yesterday and it's mind blowing to me!! College really does fly by.

As much as I love getting dressed up, there are some days where I just want be comfy and casual. Recently I picked up this SUPER comfy stripped top and it just may be one of my favorite pieces in my closet at the moment! This top is so soft and I love the oversized fit of it. I actually wore this exact outfit to my first day of class yesterday and it was perfect! You still get the comfort factor as if you're wearing Norts and a tee, but still look like you are put together.

For oversized tops, I like tucking one side of them in my shorts / pants to give it a more styled and defined look. Even though this is a pretty laid back and casual look, I had to add some kind of sparkle to it, right? These glitter Kate Spade Keds are one of my favorite tennis shoes because they instantly give any casual look a little touch of glam!

What are your go to pieces to wear for your casual days? I would love to know in the comments down below! As always, thank you for reading!

Irresistible Me Sapphire Curling Wand Review

Happy Tuesday friends!

If you read my previous posts than you may notice that I don't really do much to my hair. I have naturally very pin straight hair and wear it down 99% of the time. I mean, if I could have it my way I would love to have either A. someone do my hair for me every morning or B. my hair to be beautifully curled every time I woke up (wouldn't that be the dream?).

Doing more of what makes me happy

Happy Monday friends!

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! Today is my last day of summer vacation and I cannot believe a new school year is about to start! Insane right?! Let me know when you go back to school (or if you've already started) in the comments down below!

Today's post is going to be a little bit of a long one, so let's just jump right into it!

Blogging can be very discouraging at times. Sometimes you spend days on a post and the response isn't what you wanted. You may have written an awesome email with a great idea for a brand, but you have no reply. It sucks, but it happens.

Also, it's very easy to get caught up and compare yourself to other bloggers who may be more "successful" than you or have a bigger following. I know I am guilty of seeing bloggers who have been blogging for a shorter amount of time than I have with 6x more followers than I do and question "what am I doing wrong??" It happens to the best of us from time to time.

Sometimes I even question myself sometimes with "why am I spending so much time and effort on this website?" With styling outfits, pictures, editing, writing the post, promoting it, planning out content, this mine as well be a part time job (wouldn't that be nice though?).

"Do more of what makes you happy"

I love putting new outfits together and sharing them with you all. I love planning out content and reading all of your comments on my posts. I even love days we go out to take blog photos (even when it's 90+ degrees out!).

Even though blogging about what I wear may seem silly to some people, I really do love it. I love having a platform where I can not only share outfit inspiration with people, but be able to connect with some amazing people through it. I mean, it still blows my mind that I have been able to meet some blogging friends in real life, like WHAT.

I always like to write inspirational quotes in my planner or write my goals down to remind me of why I'm doing what I'm doing. Little reminders always seem to have a way to give you that pick me up when you least expect it.

I recently received this roman numeral bar necklace from Sparkle & Whim with the date of when I started my blog and it couldn't have been a better reminder of why I still blog.

Even in just the short amount of time of having this necklace it has brought me so much happiness every time I see the date engraved on it (fun fact, I'm think roman numerals are the prettiest thing, ever!).

My little corner of the internet has brought me so much joy and I love talking about it to people now. I use to be so embarrassed about having a site where I posed and shared what I wore on the internet, but I've kind of gotten over that. Low key am waiting for someone to ask what the date is on my necklace when I wear it out just so I have an excuse to talk about it!

Whew. I told you all that would be a long one. Hi to those of you who made it to the end! Let me know down below what makes you happy and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Thank you for reading!!

Back at it again

Similar Striped Tee || Skort || Very Similar Wedges || Similar Necklace || Similar Kate Spade Purse || Similar Tassel Bracelet

Happy Friday friends!

Here I am back at it again with another restyled post! A couple weeks ago I showed you all a restyled outfit featuring pieces that I've shown you all on the blog before. Today I'm sharing a restyled post featuring two of my favorite pieces! I love finding new ways to style pieces in my closet to get the most out of my clothes.

This navy and white stripped tee has been a staple in my closet and have found so many different ways to style it (see it styled here and here!). I love the contrast of this navy tee with this peach skort. It's like you get the color blocking look of orange and blue without looking too much like a Florida Gator.

Skorts have been my go to when going out with friends because I don't have to worry about flashing people (hey, it happens to the best of us). Check out how I styled this skort in a previous post here.

As always, I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe weekend! Also, be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new Pink Talks post! I've decided to do them every other week!

P.S. Have you entered my CaseApp giveaway yet?? It ends Monday!!
