East Coast vs West Coast

Happy Wednesday friends!

I am super excited to share today's blog post with you all! I have teamed up with Kelly from Atelier d'Egerie for a fun collab! Kelly is currently based in California since I am in North Carolina so we thought it would be fun to do a little east coast vs. west coast styling challenge (minus the beef of course!). We decided to choose a closet staple, the white skinny jean, and style it to reflect our separate regions.

Top: Red Dress Boutique (old, similar here) || Jeans: YMI via TJ Maxx || Wedges: Target (super similar here) || Necklace: Bauble Bar || Watch: Michael Kors (similar here) || Pink Cuff: Bauble Bar (old, similar here) || Pearl Bracelet: Forever 21 (similar) || Chain Bracelet: J.Crew Factory || Monogram Clutch: Marley Lilly

Even though I have lived in the south for pretty much most of my life, I've never really considered myself a "southerner." It may have something to due to the fact that I was born in Philadelphia so I never considered myself a true southerner because of that (which is super weird considering I lived in North Carolina for, what 20 years now?).

I may not consider myself a true southerner; there are many aspects of southern fashion that I love. Seersucker, bows ties, and Lilly just to name a few. Today for our little fashion challenge I decided to channel my inner southern belle to represent the southern east coast. I mean, seersuckers, bows and monograms? Classic southern staples. P.S. Let’s see how many times I can say the word “southern” before it gets obnoxious…

I styled this seersucker bow back top on the blog last fall (check it out here!) and decided to give it a restyle for this little challenge. To go with the top I accessorized with my go-to tassel necklace and some gold arm candy. As for shoes I paired the look off with some nude wedges (which, I have been wearing a TON lately. They seriously go with everything!).

What do you all think about our east coast vs west coast challenge? How would you style white skinny jeans to represent where you live? I'd love to know in the comments down below! Also, be sure to check out Kelly's post on how she gave some California flare to her outfit! Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! (:

4th of July Outfit Inspo

Shirt: Abercrombie and Fitch (similar) || Shorts: Forever 21 (similar) || Headband: Wal-Mart (similar) || Purse: Old Navy + DIY || Sandals: Forever 21 (similar) || Bracelet: J. Crew Factory || Earrings: Forever 21

Happy Monday friends!
Barbecues, fireworks, and sunshine, oh my! Fourth of July is one week away and I'm already breaking out all of my red, white and blue clothing pieces. Don't get me wrong, I love a good tacky 4th of July shirt, but today I'm sharing a cute alternative with you all just in case you wanted a little more subtle look.

Blue and white have been one of my favorite color combinations lately. This cobalt blue tank is perfect for any summer festivities because it's so lightweight and breezy. Also not to mention it has a super adorable back detail. I have been loving bandanas and headbands for summer so I had to incorporate this classic red bandana into this look.

Have you picked out what you're wearing for the 4th of July yet? If you're still on a hunt, I've linked a few of my favorite pieces down below for some inspo! Happy shopping! (:

Pink Talks v3.

Happy Saturday friends!

Welcome back to another Pink Talks! If you haven't yet, be sure to catch up on my past two Pink Talks here and here to read up on what I've been up to.

What I've been doing...
In my last Pink Talks I mentioned that I was going over to Annalise from Southern Belle in Training's house warming party. I was only able to stay for a little due to existing plans, but it was so nice to see Annalise and Cara from Caralina style. Annalise's apartment was so cute and I even got to see her infamous Starbucks mug collection! If you would like to read the full recap of her house warming party, you can do so here!

Last weekend I got to have my first Cold Stone experience! First Krispy Kreme and now Cold Stone. I feel like I'm just experiencing all the classic desserts that I have missed out during my childhood this summer. I'm known to be a Ben and Jerry's girl, but Cold Stone was a very close second! Let me know what you like to get at Cold Stone! I was so overwhelmed with all the flavors that it took me a good minute to decide what I wanted!

Last Sunday I got the chance to see Finding Dory. If you haven't seen the movie yet, RUN, don't walk to your nearest movie theatre. It is seriously THE CUTEST movie of all time. Dare I say even better than Finding Nemo? Finding Nemo is in my top five favorite movies of all time list, so I already had high expectations for Finding Dory. I was very pleased with the movie and wouldn't be surprised if I went back and saw it again. #NoShame

Recent purchases...
I picked up this adorable cat clutch and have zero regrets about it! It's ADORABLE and I am already getting so many uses out of it. Also, it's on sale so be sure to snatch it up while you can!

I also finally picked up a pair of white skinny jeans this past week. I have always been hesitant about white jeans because I am just so clumsy and spill everything on me, but when I tried this pair on, I couldn't pass them up. They are such a good fit and I scored them at TJ Maxx for an awesome price!

By now you all probably know how I practically live in dresses during the summer. One of my favorite online shopping sites, BooHoo is having 50% off all their dresses and shoes (use code HOTLOOKS)! I have had this dress in my shopping cart for a while and may take advantage of this awesome sale and pick up this dress too!

Happy Wednesday Friends!

I hope all of you are having a great week so far! My summer class is starting to wind down and I am starting to have an actual summer break (yay!). That means I have more time to work on some exciting blog content for you all! I am always open to any suggestions or requests for post ideas so if you have any please share them down below! (:

I always talk about how flowy shorts are my go-to in the summertime, but I'm pretty sure this one takes the cake. I picked up these scalloped hemmed shorts from H&M and it's probably the best purchase I have ever made. These shorts are so comfy and can we just take a second at that scalloped edge? Beautiful!

I paired the shorts off with a white lace tank that I have been my most reached item this whole summer. This tank goes with everything and it's so lightweight! For $10 you can't go wrong with it. To finish the look off I paired it with a floral headband that I got a few years back. I normally don't wear headbands, or really any hair accessories for that matter, but I have been really into them lately! I love how they look down like I am wearing here or when my hair is tied up in a messy bun! It's so fun for summer!

I hope you all have a great Wednesday and be sure to come back Friday for a new post! (:

National Wear Your Lilly Day

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer (old, similar dress here) || Wedges: Target || Clutch: Marley Lilly || Bracelet: Bauble Bar (similar)

Happy National Wear Your Lilly Day friends!

Ever since I saw my first Lilly Pulitzer print in high school I knew I wanted at least one of their dresses in my collection. It wasn't until last summer during one of Lilly Pulitzer's After Party Sale that I my first Lilly dress to my wardrobe that I was hooked.

Not only does Lilly have beautiful prints and clothing pieces, the brand has such an amazing message. You cannot help but feel happy and bright when looking at their prints and they are always encouraging everyone to live in a sunny state of mind.

I picked up this beautiful shift dress during their most recent After Party sale and I couldn't be happier with it! Lilly has been known for their infamous shift dresses and I completely understand why. Unfortunately I couldn't find this dress online, but I have linked the same style dress in a different print here (which is equally as cute!). There are so many aspects about this dress I love. First, the print is just so bright and happy, how could it not brighten anyone's day? The dress also has cute little bows on both sides of the dress that at first I wasn't a huge fan of. I have debated back and forth on if I should take them off or not, but I think they are starting to grow on me.

In honor of National Wear Your Lilly Day I have linked some of my favorite Lilly pieces down below! Have a great day everyone!

Pink Talks v.2

Happy Saturday Friends!

I'm back again with another Pink Talks post! I've finally decided on what I'm going to call this little series (let's be honest, I may change it again because I am terrible with decisions). Now, let's dive into today's post, shall we?

What I've been doing...

Last weekend a few of my friends and I packed up a car and headed out to Oak Island for the day for a relaxing beach getaway. The great thing about living in Charlotte is that it's pretty much right in the middle of the beach and the mountains. Both locations are about a 2 -3 hour drive, which isn't bad compared to a 8 - 12 hour drive I would normally have to take from my home town.

My friends and I spent the day eating delicious (veggie) burgers and soaking up some much needed rays. Also, I played the most intense game of corn hole in my entire life! Unfortunately Mr. Camera man and I lost by 1 point, but it was still fun none the less.  It was such a fun trip and I hope we get to plan another one again soon! If you aren't already, be sure to follow me on snapchat (amy.pnp) to follow along my summer adventures!

Pastel N Pink turned 2 years old yesterday!! If you haven't yet, check out yesterday's post where I share all about why I started blogging and memories from this past year!

Tonight I'm headed over to one of my blogging friends, Annaliese from Southern Belle in Training's house warming party! It's still so surreal to me to have meet people through my blog and I cannot wait to see how her place turned out!

Recent Purchases...
I visited Nordstrom Rack for the first time last week and picked up these tassel earrings. I have been wearing them nonstop! I use to be really into big statement earrings when I was younger and they are definitely making a come back into my wardrobe this season!

I also picked up this adorable babydoll dress while I was at Nordstrom Rack. After I purchased the dress I realize Morgan from How 2 Wear it had the exact same dress... #twinning! You can check out how she styled the dress here

On snapchat I snapped a picture of a blue and white floral dress asking if I reaaalllyy needed another floral dress in my collection... well I'm here to say I did purchase that beaut. Here's a similar dress! I also picked up these beaded sandals that were on clearance as well!

I cannot forget to mention that Father's Day is tomorrow! I'm so sad that the second year in a row I won't be able to be home to spend Father's day with my dad. My dad is my best friend and I cannot thank him enough for every thing he's done for me. From going formal dress shopping every year to teaching me all of his bad jokes he's always been there for me. If you would like, you can check out my Father's Day post I wrote last year here.

On the blog...
It's been another busy week here at Pastel N Pink! In honor of my blogiversary this week I posted every single day this week. If you want to catch up this past week's post you can do so here:

Happy Friday friends!

GUYS! Today my little corner of the internet turns 2 years old!!

I cannot believe that 2 years has already flown by. This really counts as a one year blogiversary in my mind because during my first year of blogging I was very inconsistent and didn't really start diving into the blogging world until last summer.

I started blogging because I wanted a place where I could share my interest of fashion with the world. My friend group mainly consists of guys and let's be honest, they really don't care about the fact that I just scored a Lilly Pulitzer dress for an awesome price at Marshalls (true story, btw!). I wanted a place where I can talk about clothes without having the thought that I'm annoying people who could care less and possibility find some like minded people.

I've learned so much since starting Just Casually Chic (my original blog name before I rebranded to Pastel N Pink). I don't mean to get cliche and sappy, but I really have (just take a look at my first post to see for yourself)! Just in the past year alone I started to learn more about photography, lighting and basic editing. I learned the importance of how to market yourself and applied a lot of what I was learning in school to my blog. In just this past year I got a chance to do my first sponsored post, host my first giveaway and even got to meet up with some fellow bloggers! I have also rebranded my blog, gave it a makeover (at least five times...) and purchased my domain name! SO much as has happened in this past year alone and it's crazy how fast it's gone by.

I had mentioned before that I use to dance for 10 years and that was my creative outlet from school growing up. Since coming to college I felt like I didn't have a creative outlet since I didn't continue dancing. I'm glad that I now have my blog as my own little project to keep me sane during the school year.

I could go on and on, but I'll just leave it at how grateful I am for all the opportunities blogging has given me. Also, want to give a big thank you to you all for reading my blog! I mean, really. Thank you for listing on to my constant rambles about how I hate growing up. So cheers to 2 years and many more years to come for Pastel N Pink. I'm so excited for what the future holds!

Here's a few of my favorite posts over the past two years!

Also, I have to give a quick shoutout to my friend Dylan for helping me with my photos! The bubble photos just wouldn't be possible without his help!
